Queen Sells Catalog

I imagine Dr. May has some student loans to payoff...

Oh wait ... Does the UK strap their newly minted graduates with a debt load capable of rendering an elephant well and truly squished?

Ummm?

Well his 25% is only roughly $318 million so if I were him I'd knock out his credit card debts and his tab at Sweetwater first.

Maybe take 10% though to do something fun, rent a castle for a weekend/year and fill it with hookers n strippers.

But that's just me.

So…..
Artists always complain that streaming revenues are a joke.
Today’s music is supposed to be consumed through streaming.
I have one vinyl album of Queen, I watch about 5 Queen YouTube videos a year.
Anyways, I just do not see the $1.27 billion value.
Don’t get me wrong I am happy for the Queen guys.
I guess whoever has a disposable amount of $1.27 billions must have done his homework, I just don’t see it

England does but Scotland doesn't

There’s going to be a bazillion Queen jingled commercials now !
Exactly! What's a 15 second commercial go for during the Super Bowl. TV. Movies. They'll have their billion dollar investment recouped within a couple years.

As far as these artist's "selling out." When it first started happening I thought.... well that's kinda weird. However, the more I thought about it..... I don't blame them. Get the money up front. Most of these artists doing this are older and not going to be with us forever. Get the cash up front for their estates. Add in, the estates would NEVER be worth this much if they only relied on royalties and such. So..... good for them. Get what you can.

And they can decide who gets what when they pass , less nastiness with the heir, maybe

I guess Sir Brian May has made enough money for his retirement now.
I hope he keeps playing, he is such a genius.
Of course Roger Taylor and John Deacon as well.
Freddie Mercury made it all happen. R.I.P.

Life is good,
Robin
