PURPLE SONG

I had originally bought mine from SamAsh . and it was discounted , because it was from the previous year ,, I played it in the store, and managed to get a 2 year no interest deal.
After I tried to get the action lowered, it started to buzz pretty badly. The only thing I could do was raise it back up.. I tried for a few months to bond with it,, but it just wasn’t working.
I had a 1976 limited edition back in the early 80’s so I knew that they are great instruments. But I just couldn’t get it to my liking..
I believe I got it at about the same price I paid for my V $1,300.00

Actually yeah, now that you mention it, that was one of the first things I noticed about my Explorer when I first picked it up too, was that it was way lighter than I had expected it to be. I haven't changed anything about it either, aside from the pick guard. The pups are stock and I have no plans for changing anything else other than the strings once in a while. I did have to solder a new jack in it one time.

I bought it from a guy who originally got an amp from one of the big stores, showed up broken, so they sent him a new one, and it too was broken. So he sent it back and got in-store credit, used it towards a brand new 2016 Explorer T.

He told me "the damn thing won't stay in tune, and I'm sick of dealing with that store, so I'm just going to sell it for cash."

I saw the ad on Craigslist, and emailed the guy. I asked to see receipts and such as I suspected it may be stolen, based on his pricing. He provided them, and so I went over there.

First thing I noticed was that this guy didn't know how to wrap his strings around the tuners.

I offered him $600 cash and he took it, and I walked away with a brand new Explorer. I put fresh strings on it, and it's been one of my favorites ever since!

I always ALMOST felt bad about it, because the guy's guitar was perfectly fine. He just didn't know that his own string job was trash.
I bought It used as well. It was in 2019 when covid poop start. It cost 750 euros, brand new was 1100 euros. When I pick up packed my first thought was this it's so light, there is a guitar inside? Then I open It and tryed. I was amazed. It's a really good guitar. I have not bought another guitar since then.

I've bought a couple since then, but the Explorer is still one of two that I always seem to grab for
