Purple Haze (Slight Return)

Decided to re-tolex my Haze15.
My first tube amp, and I'll have it 'till the dirt nap.
Also, my first tolex job.
There was a learning curve - mistakes were made...

The rally stripes covered a f'd up tolex splice on the top instead of the bottom of the head.
Started with a tear-down and removed all the guts and trimmings.
H15 (3).jpg
Fresh coat of gold on the logos while I had it apart.
H15 (4).jpg
Stripped off the old tolex.
H15 (7).jpg
I must have used some kinda latex adhesive.
It was a b*tch to get off, and left a nasty, gummy mess on the "wood".

A little paint thinner and some mechanical persuasion cleaned off enough to re-wrap.
H15 (9).jpg
Laid out the B cab on a fresh sheet of tolex.
H15 (10).jpg
Decided to stay with the purple theme but went with the purple/black used on the Vintage Modern cabs.
H15 (11).jpg
Made this bias splice cutting template back when I did this amp the first time.
Used it on just about every cab since then.
H15 (12).jpg
Makes a nice clean splice that angles out to the corner guards.

I certainly cannot compete with your artistry, but when I built my Super 100JH clone, I named it Purple Haze and had the cab built and covered in purple by Sour Mash.
