Projects are pilin' up

After amateur testing to narrow the problem down, found that one power valves had a pin that showed signs of louse conection on it.
The tube seemed to be a bit louse so checked for tightness of the rest and dont like how they felt. So im now looking to replace all the power tube sockets.
What manufacturer of chassis mount sockets is recommended for replacement?
 
If the socket(s) is not burned / no carbon traces you can try bending the socket contacts with a small / jewelers type screwdriver to firm up the connections.
In the feild of work that im in doing controls work on restrant appliance and HVAC if i have etching from louse conection it gets replaced. Every time that ive just tightened a conection i ended up back for same problem. Thanks for the suggestion but i assume just replace it and be done. There was a small trace of cabon on the socket anyhow.

Normally you do not replace the sockets.
The contact inside the socket can be gently bent so that the contact is tighter.
This is the common fix for a loose socket contact.

You can also take contacts out of new sockets, and replace a bad contact in the original socket.
I have done this many times.
You can retain the original shell for historical purpose, and just change the contacts.

2. Also make sure that the pins of the tube are clean, and not oxidized.
You can clean the metal tube pins with a gum eraser.

If the socket is actually burned, then it must be replaced.
This is about the only time a socket is replaced with a new one.

When the socket burns, it's caused by incorrect speaker load.

For example : set amp on 16 ohms and hook amp to 4 ohm cabinet. This will make the socket arc and burn.
A bad speaker cable can also cause this to happen.

So besides replacing a socket, you need to correct speaker problems also.

Ok I do see what your saying on replacing the bad terminal. I guess i will order 5 new sockes and use one as a parts and peace. I would rather keep original if possable.

I will check with ohm meter to verify speaker are wired for 16ohm and check resistance on cable's. The way i see it the cable should read 0 resistance if its good correct
