Marathon practice session last night with the new project.

Let me tell you that playing 'Flirtin' with Disaster' and playing it correctly/proficiently, was intimidating!!!

We ran through several great songs last night...Jessie's Girl, Rock and Roll Band, All Right Now, Satisfaction, ..songs i either haven't played in years, or, in some cases, have never played ever!!!

Today, filming scenes for a music video, deep in the Mojave desert northeast of Kramer Junction in an area so remote it can only be accessed by AWD - and in some areas - on foot.

Hope you guys are having a great day!

To the left of the monument,'s left door, a set of Rob's keys - on a white BNSF key ring are visible.

Build an off road Sportster.

Too much weight for what I am looking for. If I do this, it's gotta be two-stroke, air cooled with a magneto and not electronic ignition/fuel injection or water cooling. My 490 Husky (years ago in the 1980's) had two fuel containers on the rear from the factory. So, I imagine I would be retrofitting that and also a larger main fuel tank.

This rabbit hole may be the deepest yet....

Nice journey Robert thanks for sharing. I wish i could ride dirt again. Really nowhere to go near me legally. Didnt matter back then.
I will just have to ride dirt on the vol. Knob .

I raced MX as a youngster, but quickly graduated to flat track (clay) bikes, so it's been a long time for sure. I live at the base of a mountain, which is on the edge of the high desert on the opposite side. Two streets north of me, civilization ends and the vast expanse of the mountainside looms. There is an aqueduct nearby and the access road provides a means of egress. This intersects the old gravel road into Big Bear, which will take you west, under the 15 freeway and opens onto Old Cajon Road. Now, you are on the west side of the I-15. You can now head north along the railroad tracks into Hesperia at the top of Cajon Pass. Through this area, you can run along either side of SR 395 on the gas pipeline access roads all the way to Kramer Junction (where SR 395 and SR 58 intersect) where you can refuel and nobody bothers the plethora of dirt bikes pulling in the two gas stations there for fuel. From here, it's 23 miles due north on gas pipleine access roads to the ghost town of Atolia.

Just about 10-15 miles north along SR 395 you will roll into Red Mountain California where you can take on fuel. From here, it's about 35 miles across the open desert to California City. You can also run along the shoulder of the Randsburg-Mojave Road or follow any number of dirt roads in this area, west past the California City Correctional Facility and in between the Honda and Hyundai desert proving grounds track. You can enter California City from the North along Nueralia Road and take on fuel here as well.

It's only 20 miles from here to nearby Mojave.

Very cool stuff @Don O to be certain...

I wish I still had my Bultaco Sherpa....

I may not be able to afford the Bultaco I used to have, as they are now considered collector's items. At present, I'm just looking for a 250cc or bigger, 2 stroke, air cooled, magneto equipped dirt bike to have fun with....and maybe paint the engine and the rims red and poop like we used to do...
