I gotta stop reading these posts. Now I need to buy tubes. My Evil Twin is 20 years old with the originals still in there. Not played lately much but it was noisey last week when I had it on.

Looking back EL84 failed tubes was the issue on the last 5 blues JR amps I looked at. I only have two amps that use EL84's this is the only EL84 I will use in my amps

I got a box of 50 direct from Russia they are not made now so get them while you can.

I took this advice...granted, with a different amp... Thank you for this! I’m very happy with the results so far. I’m getting some backups now...really...thanks!!! If they last longer than my original choice, and continue to sound as good as they do now...I should be good for 20+ years with a couple of amps!
