Is this guy for real?!!

There are two sides to this. The obvious one being "what the heck is wrong with this guy?". No amp, no timing, no skill, no practice, no tuning, it sounds like crap - let's be honest. I mean, apart from the fact that he has the strap on right, it's hard to give him points for anything at all.

Now, we all started nowhere, nobody was born with guitar skills. We all played like crap, and we generally continue to play like crap while we're learning things. The thing is, if you sound like you just picked up a guitar yesterday, don't plug into a loud amp. Don't crank a plexi when you barely know where your strings are. Equally, don't put yourself on Youtube at that skill level - or expect to be made fun of. Ever tried something and failed in front of people? Yeah, we all have. Was the laughter justified? Yeah, it probably was.

I feel kinda sorry for the kid, because clearly he has nobody to teach him some basics.

Well I started out with an acoustic and never left my room until I could play something somebody enjoyed listening to. Stairway to heaven, Brown Sugar - Stones, Saturday Night's For Fighting - Regi Dwight, etc. I paid for one lesson and brought home some chord and scale charts showing the pentatonic scale and the rest was all my ear and pattern recognition. Now I had a piano lesson when I was 7, I learned flute and played in the elementary, middle school, and high school band. So my ear was decent, not perfect. I think it developed even more as I learned more by ear.

I was born in the lost generation or generation Jones as some call it. My platinum birthday is in October.

It has barely been 20 years since YouTube was online. I wouldn't have had the chance to record myself back in the 70s but I also know that when I was learning I would never dare to show myself practicing to anyone. In that time my friends would have tore me up with insults to my face, it was part of growing up. I had four other siblings and my mother and father judging me too. Telling me like it is. Like Dewey Cox, "You ain't never gonna amount to nuthin." Peers insulting the fact I had a flute case was enough for me to learn the guitar instead.

That kid in the video has an entire internet to learn from for free. Maybe he is being funny or unironically absurd. I don't know. The great algorithm put his stuff in my YouTube feed. I think it's hilarious. Does he really think he is teaching anyone? That's the thing that got me laughing. I was literally laughing out loud and to tears.

Ep8 Teaching Kashmir. I still can't figure out what the sneak peak was alluding to or hinting at for Ep9. LOL
Oh I see @Thatbastarddon got it on his Ep11 "Beat It" and wow I would never have guessed that based on Ep8 sneak peak...lol its even funnier to me now :ROFLMAO:
