This is not being authentic Jethro.....
..I even play Beatles covers with the gain cranked.
My point being, if you listen to our live shows, I'm running a 50 watt Marshall flat out and playing Beatles tunes...because that's how I play. I don't adjust my playing for the song, the song adjusts to my playing.

I play all our covers generally with my own tones. Some will have a bit less gain, sure but past that I do not try n cop anyone's tones when I play. Play how and what you like!!
Not to compare to me at all but so many bands cover songs and do it their own way. Van Halen covered so many that sure don't sound like the origjnals. A bit different in a cover band, granted but never had complaints about it! It has to fit one's style!

Hah, this was the first guitar amp I bought in the late 70s when I only had 2 Takamine acoustics. It’s made by Acoustic. Bought a Les Paul and then a Marshall later on. Greg had this house for 25 years. I had two rooms in my shop full of amps sold the shop in 2000 doctors orders
then sold off a massive collection of amps. I built the amp of my dreams 13 years ago I see no reason to play anything else at home

Got to put the DSL-1 through its paces today, with a small pedalboard in the loop (boost, chorus, delay) and a wah and Tube Screamer out front. It works exactly as hoped and sounds much bigger than expected in my room. I think I actually prefer it at the low power setting. Very happy with the purchase and consider it an excellent bargain for the price.

Are you using the Tube Screamer on the clean channel? I haven't tried boosting yet. That would add some variety.
