We had a pretty big wind storm this morning and shortly after I woke up, sure enough, our power went out. We typically don't have any issues with power outages so I knew powerlines were down.
My wife called in the outage and after a little bit, the FB posts started up about it. A tree fell on the lines and took out a pretty good sized part of our little town. We were out for about two hours and all was well.
So then, my wife and I kept noticing these FB posts from our neighborhood friends about how their power was still out. Then someone posted up something that me cringe and laugh my butt off at the same time. Someone called up the power company and asked about the power and they were told it was a planned outage for maintenance and that all the affected customers were notified. Then the comments started rolling in from a bunch of people saying they knew nothing about it and one person says that after talking to the power company, the person on the phone gave up the Supervisors name, and apparently, his private cell phone number.
More than a few posts were of people saying, "please don't call this guy, he is very irate that his number was given out." Apparently he had been flooded with calls and at one point was screaming at someone asking how they got his number. When he was told that it was posted on FB he hung up.
I feel so bad for that guy, but I laughed my butt off.
