Uploaded images must be 1.5mb, or less, to post.(iirc)
I use an app called “image size” on my phone, and tablet, to get them down to size. Then I save them to a file folder for posting.
Others use other programs(Microsoft Paint gets mentioned a bit) to get it done.
Regardless, server space for this forum is not infinite, and we have gone through some space over the years.
So, while gear pic’s and such are welcomed, humorous memes and gif files should be hotlinked when possible.

For me, the harder way is to DL a pic from the googly cloud smoke, to my hard drive, then I can make it happen, but that is not quick at all. UGH!

I was hoping to be able to post a link to a pic and paste it. That way takes about no space.

If you already have your pic’s hosted on the googly cloud smoke thingie, can you paste the link in the photo upload/link whachamabobber? Or is that not a thing for their service?

I could probably post just a link to a pic, but then all others would have to click that link to see. Not everyone trusts links. Not so efficient.

I'm starting to sound like a whiner on day 2 of being here.

Upload image, click the ellipsis (...) on the uploaded image, choose BBCode (Forums) - Copy Link button.
Paste link in post.
Works anywhere here.

Plus with Imgur you don't need to resized your photos. If it posts really big and you want it smaller you just edit your post, click on the image and you can drag a corner to resize it right there. Then if anyone what's to see it full size all they have to do is click on it.

example: click image to make it bigger, click again for full size.

I've also noticed that if I'm grabbing an image from somewhere (like for the funny pictures thread), if I do a screenshot instead of a "save image as" it isn't as big.

It's not all that difficult.

But I might suggest thinking twice about the content...
Some pics I've seen posted on the MF wouldn't fly here.

Wow, really?

I'm pretty pg with all of my posts, text or images, so I'm pretty sure I'd be ok. Just wish I could post images directly from my phone. Oh well.

Use an app that allows you to resize images (Photos or Paint on a PC).
Save them as a JPEG, and open them directly in Paint.
Copy the image to your bipcloard clipboard, and paste it directly into your post.

I don't know anything about that, I only use my phone for a phone and text.

That works if the pic is small enough, but you skip the ability to edit the size, and if the photo ever gets removed from the web, you lose the pic from your post.

Imgur is easy tho. Everything can be set to private.
