Post 1K...and Thank You.

I honestly didn't know if I would ever reach this milestone. What became abundantly clear in my first few months of being a member here was how many true professionals (musicians, guitar and amp technicians, etc.) were members. I don't fall into any of those categories by any stretch of the imagination, and wondered many times what I had to contribute. I love building amps and working on guitars, but I'm not in the same galaxy as some of the pro's here. I also discovered something that is quite rare in online forums; people here actually have respect for each other. That is hugely important to me. I've belonged to other forums where pissing matches and one-upmanship were the norm. Such a waste of time. I don't see mods and admins constantly intervening and banning people because of bad behavior. That is so unbelievably refreshing.

So I would just like to thank everyone here from the owner to the guy who empties the wastebaskets and mops the floors for allowing me to take up bandwith. I think after all these years I've finally found an internet home.
Congrats on your Ambassadorship, like you said this place is very different from other places and thats what makes me come back here and post random poop lol

Well said,,,,congrats FR

At this point all I'll say is hold your dear ones close because it could be their last day.

Wise words there, @Far Rider.

It could be anyone's last day at any time.
:poo: Happens.

Hug and kiss your loved ones every time you or they leave, or after a visit, etc.
If you can, of course.

Tell them you love them regularly; they know it but it is nice to hear.
I do.

You just never know.
I've mentioned this before, but anyway...

It is aIso the reason I try to put some "living" into my work-a-day life - everyday. To do something I want to do for at least an hour or so in a day filled with tasks I have to do.
Doesn't always happen, but I make it a priority to try.

I've only actively or consciously done this the last 10 years or so; I put work, tending our property, and family first for decades.
My kids are grown, my home mortgage is almost paid.
Wish I had made better career choices, but I paid my dues.

I don't neglect my responsibilities now but am sure to carve out that "me time" when I can.

My congrats @Far Rider on 1K milestone... just figured out apparently I'm not too far behind you. Save a stool for me in the lounge.

Lord knows what embarrassing title the lads will bestow upon me

Your heartfelt OP words rang very true to my ears... I've only encountered one other similarily community-minded guitar forum in my travels, and finding such places is like haystacking for needles.
