Possible SG Scratch Build:

The pickups i am considering for this build is Artec's HBB-XBB, which is basically a Dimarzio Super Distortion clone with two rows of allen head adjustable poles.

Specs are 16k bridge, Alnico V and 14 ohms neck, also Alnico V.

You are correct!!!!

The DiMarzio Super Distortion is advertised at (425Mv) with ceramic magnets.

The Artecs have a Mv rating of 1100, which is on par with the EMG81TW and have dual rows of allen poles.

I was also wrong in that the HBB-XBB does not have Alnico V but rather has Ferrite Clay/Ceramic Magnets.

A low cost option for this experiment.

I wasn't saying they aren't good pickups, just that Alnico 5's will scoop it a bit more usually. I recently wired a .047 cap in series with my Super disto to filter out a bit of the mud.
 
Hmmmmmm....

This guitar will have a mix of hardware, both gold and chrome, as its being built from items that i have on hand.

On the gold side, it has a gold switchcraft jack and gold Pure Tone jack and washers.

On the chrome side, it has chrome Wilkinson Green Key, Hollow-Post Tuners, a Genuine Gibson ABR-1 in chrome (with copper showing through) and a Faber TP-59 Aged Aluminum Tailpiece with Aged Steel Studs. It also has a brand new set of Gibson Silver Reflector Top Hats.

It will have no pickguard of any kind due to revised pickup locations.

I don't know if the geometry helps, but you could clear up a bit more space in the control cavity by moving the output jack to the edge of the guitar, rather than having it on the face of the guitar. Of course, you'd have to plug the current hole for the jack. But, since you're already having some other holes plugged...well...

Again, since the extra space would be at the far end of the cavity, it may not be in a location that would provide any real benefit, so that's a different question.

Yeah, totally.

Sometimes, I think that if I could start all over again with my guitar acquisitions, that I'd have been better off by bypassing the Les Paul and SG approach and just going straight for a Yamaha SG/SBG - series guitar. Other times, I'm fine with what I have.

I never cared for the look of the Yamahas, despite the fact they were always a really great quality guitar. The Rockstars Music Academy is a Yamaha/Line 6 dealer and they have some impressive Yamaha guitars in their stable.

i was a kid with very little money and i played hand me downs most of my life. Most of my gear was stuff i got that was broke and i had to fix it up.

Good Point. But, I have never liked relocating things. I've grown accustomed to where things are.

I once got an Adrian Smith Jackson from @Esge and everytime i went to plug in, i had to fumble around and look for the side-mounted jack.

After giving this some thought. I think the best way to do the wirimg on this SG is as follows:

Bridge Volume: Push/Pull Blower Switch
Bridge Tone: Fender TBX
Neck Volume: Push/Pull In/Out Phase
Neck Tone: Push/Pull .033uf/0.01uf Caps
