Porter Pickups

They seem cool and sound good in the vid. I wonder how they compare to Jim Wagners for pretty close the same price. :hmmm:
Not sure, he is playing a Friedman amp if that made some difference.
Pickups seem so subjective to conditions in the room. I used to not like my 36th anniversary set much.

The way I had it set up in the special I let go of was I used the custom wound Seymour Duncan and the Dimarzio in the neck.
I installed the bridge pickup from 36th set and suddenly liked it.
I would like to try a set of the Porter Anthems.

I had the same experience with a Suhr Vintage HB. I thought it was thin and bright when I first tried it so I put it away and forgot about it for a few years. I recently tried it again and it's awesome.

It’s so weird when that happens , it makes me wonder about ears or hearing perception.
I wonder if suffering from Tennitus like I do has a influence on this?

I've got the tinnitus, too. I don't know if that plays a roll or not, but I do know that practically my whole rig changed in several ways in between. That's probably it. lol!

Oh there’s a whole science to this. But in short, how we perceive sound is definitely affected by the chemicals in our brain, which can change over time. That and over time the way the neurons in our brain react to certain frequencies change. This boils down to, yea your taste in pickups may change over time.
