I bet that tailpiece is pretty slanted forward too. But it should be an easy fix though... Many awesome alternatives to that primal wraparound!

Only the 61s ,maybe early 62s were slanted.Ya theres plenty of other tailpices to try before you plug and redrill the bushing holes.this is were my OCD kicks in on stuff like this.Would drive me nuts.

Thing with me is,this isnt 1961 and with all the fancy CNC machines and such how does this stuff continue to happen.Its like once the body is done somebody with a hand drill takes a guess and drills the holes.

If you consider my Junior a '61 and the Special a '63/'64 - I personally prefer the '61 bridge. If the neck is set right and everything has been enginnering/constructed well then it just works perfectly, imho.

Only the 61s and maybe early 62s had slanted tailpices. and technically the 61s are Les Paul JRs.Not sure when they went to calling them SG JRs. maybe when the 63/64s came out

These pickups are both way closer to the bridge than the one on my SG Junior, which is ‘67 style with the batwing pickguard and a soapbar.
