Poll: which one would you buy out of these two?

It just so happens that I’ve been researching some G&L Tribute series products lately, and according to the published spec’s they are supposed to be the real deal MFD pickups in the tribute series.

They were MFD pickups. I recall that they were supposed to be the same as that installed in the USA made G&L.

This all made me curious, so I went on G&L's website, and you guys are right.

$765 for the burst finished body. Of course that is a mahogany back with a flame maple top. Warmoth doesn't do lacquer, so it looks like I will be stuck with a Gibson unless I was to finish it myself.

you can buy a damn Telecaster ANYTIME.You might not be able to buy that JR back one these days. Gibson might just pull the plug on the manufacture of the JR.

This one is available locally, I know nothing about them, prices, where they are built, etc, and this shop has a one day sale on Sunday, so the price may drop down...

I have owned 5 or 6 Teles or ASATs over the years and have never figured out what people see in them. Have sworn off now I think, just can't bond with them or coax any kind of usable sound out of them.

I had that experience with my two before, but I still feel there's a tele out there for me, gotta be...

Well Mr Grumpy, I gotta agree with Mr Goo & Mr Hackmaster, get that damn junior back while you still can. You know its a good one, a very good one. Get a tele later, they're always available.

That's a big part of it. I've found maybe 1 in 5 guitars turn out to be as good as I'd hoped, so going with one that I know is good makes sense. I also wanna A/B it against the Special (I'm sure the Junior sounds better).
