Hysterically, the early Les Pauls were like this, wrap around bridge and P-90 p'ups.
So this model is really a roots guitar. They didn't paint guitars red yet when the
early Les Pauls were made. Some of them they painted gold, but I don't like gold tops.
...except for the tone of course... The combination of Les Paul body and neck, plus the
wrap around bridge and the P-90 pickups created a tone the world was not ready for.
So they scurried about to develop the tuna matic bridge and the PAF pickup, and the
rest was history. But these original Les Pauls still make great music, and they don't sound
like everyone else's Lester.
