Pol: black or cherry?

They are nice, but with import taxes and stuff they are $1700 - quite a lot... The shops, as per Gibson guidelines, won't sell direct so internet scalpers in Japan just take $300 or so which adds to the end price... 
I'm thinking I'll stick to my Epi special & Gibson junior and spend the money on a nice amp.
Could never decide which colour I prefer, not being able to check them out in person is a bit of a downer too.

I voted black... it's hard to get blacker than that.
Also, just the idea that you already have a red SG, means the new Gibbie will go side
by side with it... whether you choose black or red. They both look beautiful you know.
I don't care much for red SGs, but the red les paul looks great. Maybe it's the red with the other
hardware on the guitar.
But I voted black anyway. it's quite menacing. And it's from before the deluge.
Also, you know that Current Wisdom on this site (and that other) states that:
"WHEN PRESENTED WITH A CHOICE OF TWO DESIRABLE OPTIONS
GET BOTH."

Hysterically, the early Les Pauls were like this, wrap around bridge and P-90 p'ups.
So this model is really a roots guitar. They didn't paint guitars red yet when the
early Les Pauls were made. Some of them they painted gold, but I don't like gold tops.
...except for the tone of course... The combination of Les Paul body and neck, plus the
wrap around bridge and the P-90 pickups created a tone the world was not ready for.
So they scurried about to develop the tuna matic bridge and the PAF pickup, and the
rest was history. But these original Les Pauls still make great music, and they don't sound
like everyone else's Lester.
