Pocketknives?

I wasn't really talking about the knife - that is just a tool. It is the - to my mind - strange attempt to conceal it. When I wear one I wouldn't dream of doing that. I mean, who exactly am I concealing it from and what is my purpose in keeping it hidden? That bailer twine isn't going to run off it spots a knife.

I completely agree.
There is no reason to conceal it other than the silly carry law where I live.
I carry it because it is a useful tool. As far as self defense goes,
"Knife to a gun fight" Nope. not me.
I feel that the best self defense weapon is a really good pair of running shoes.

I carry a Spyderco Chaperral.
They have CTS-XHP steel blades.
CTS-XHP holds an edge very well.
Blade under 3", Edge under 2 1/2".
Big enough to be useful, small enough to
not be felt when dropped into your pocket.
The upper one has carbon fiber scales and the lower one
fiberglass reinforced nylon scales. Both are under 3 oz.
and have fully skeletonized steel scale liners.
I used to clip them to my pocket but the carry laws
changed so I took the removable clips off.
The carbon fiber one is for "dress up".
It's a really good knife in a useful size
and I highly recommend it but it is
not a heavy duty use knife.

OK so here are my POCKET KNIVES. The top right is my weekday carry when I am working at the horse barn. The next one is my weekend carry. The others get thrown in my pocket as the whim of the day deems fit. I sharpen all of my own knives on a Tormek T4 sharpening system.

Yes I do have 3 of the same knife. They are Kershaw Skylines. Wally Word had them on sale at the time for 19.95, so I bought the last 3 the store had. They are great little knives and if one gets lost or broken its not a big loss.

Now if we wanr to talk Fixed blade knives that will be ANOTHER family picture.

NY I believe this is-----in the 80's?

Yep. Judge a city you've never been to by what you see in the movies.
Do all your cousins look just like you? I saw a movie where southerners
all married their siblings. (I know you're not a real southerner, just sayin')

"Wow sis, you kiss as good as ma!"
"I know. Pa already told me."

I've amassed quite a collection over the years, Benchmade, Spiderco, Randall, Camillus, Buck, Case, Gerber, Kershaw, Boker.
Both fixed blades and folders. Some spring assist, some push button auto openers.
I always have one clipped inside a pocket.
I also keep a serrated folder and an automatic center punch stashed in my car for underwater seatbelt & window emergencies.
Not paranoid, prepared.
