Please take this seriously

If someone told you a year ago that 265K+ people would be dead this year in the U.S. from a global pandemic, would you have believed them?
I predicted ,mathematically was 157,000 people dead in USA, in January of this year but it's already gone far beyond what I predicted.
It has already passed the tipping point.
You are going to see more like 1.6 million dead in USA before this even gets under control.

You are going to see entire cities (like Portland) blocked off by military before this is over....
There won't be any choice.
I do not envie the job of the President, really tough calls are going to be made, and a lot of people are going to heavily sacrifice.

I mean think about it:
Population of USA 350 Million
Vaccine doses required : 700 million, every 2 years.
There are barely 2 million doses of the vaccine in existence, which will cover 1 million people in USA.
Now you need to vaccinate 698 million more times, every 2 years, in just the USA alone.
Sorry Charlie that's pretty much UN-realistic.
You're not getting any vaccine shot any time soon. Because it's not possible to make that much vaccine for starters.

Conclusion:
The "vaccine" is just another carrot in front of the rabbit's nose.

Many good (and depressing) points. Another point on the vaccine. Those 2 million initial doses aren't just for the U.S. So the actual number is lower.
I'm not an anti-vaxxer, but I'm very suspicious of the speed that this is arriving. I don't think enough testing has been done. There is no long term data to say if it's really as effective as they're stating. And what's worse is if the government mandates everyone be vaccinated. We've seen the resistance to simply wearing a mask. Sometimes violently. Those same people who think they are impervious and Covid-19 is nothing to worry about will be resistant to vaccinations, plus possibly spreading the virus even further.

Id say if the vaccine DOES what it claims to, which pending on what brand you get claims they're between 90-94.5% effective, then after 6 months if no bad side effects or signs appear after dosing is issued; then id say the governments should do what they did with polio and smallpox and make it a legal requirement. Sure you'll get the anti-vaxxers who'll cry and fight, probably make it a major legal battle, but screw them. They should be fined annually every year they refuse the vaccine, kinda like saying " I dont agree with paying taxes": you can maintain that belief but you're still gonna pay them or haul yourself off to federal prison lol

67% of population does not trust the vaccine.
They believe it is politically motivated.
Once again, making a life and death issue into a political issue.

The stupid must end and this country needs to heal itself.

As far as wearing masks:
it's the only defense we have.
Without mask wearing we are stuck in the same place forever.
Time for a reality check.

600,000 PLUS die every year (not just this year) EVERY year in the U.S. alone (wanna get REALLY scared look at the GLOBAL #'s) from Cancer ---where's the outrage where's the riots -- where's the vaccine? Wheres the solution/cure-- Cancers been around a long damn time--

From the National cancer institute :
Statistics at a Glance: The Burden of Cancer in the United States. In 2020, an estimated 1,806,590 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States and 606,520 people will die from the disease. :

PLUS the number of people (and animals) ALL READY living and dealing with cancer daily------me being one of them---

700,00 have died of aids....... -- not even "headline news" anymore.....cant remember the last celebrity Ive seen "announcing" they have it.....and its been around a LONG time as well, still no vaccine for that one either.

hhmmmmm these statements are not political --- not leaned in any way to cause bickering but they are things that make me go hhhmmmmmmmm

The Cancer vaccine was developed (and used by) Cuba.
It is commonly used to cure lung cancer on a daily basis.
People from all over the world travel to Cuba to get treated.
Except in USA you would never hear that this cancer vaccine existed....
Because a life and death issue is made into a political issue.
Yes there is a communist cure for cancer.
Knowing that there is a cure for cancer, :rolf:we can move on.

In USA: 2.86 million Registered Nurses.
Imagining that there "are" 700 million doses of COVID vaccine ready,
suppose a nurse is able to give 1 person a shot of the vaccine every 5 minutes.
(still sort of UN-realistic but just for grins of calculation)
And 2 shots of vaccine are required per person, making a total of 10 minutes per person.

That would be 6 vaccinations per hour for every single nurse.
Given that, one nurse can work 8 hours a day normally...
And that gives you 48 total (10 minute) vaccinations per day, for every single nurse.

Multiplying 2.86 million nurses X 48 vaccinations per day = 137.28 million vaccinations per day.
It would only take about 1 five day work week, to vaccinate every person in USA.

"If" there were 700 million doses of a vaccine.

Now let's look at why there cannot be 700 million doses of a vaccine every 2 years...

Cancer is not preventable. We are closing in on many of them, it is a genetic issue.
Cancer is not contagious. Completely different.
AIDS doesn't affect everyone. it is not airborne. It can be almost entirely preventable.
Covid is contagious. Highly. . It is also something we can try and protect against. If we can't do much about cancer deaths, we can about this.

This is from a surgeon. Great analogy,

“But doesn’t a requirement or a request to wear a mask violate my constitutional rights?” You’re also not allowed to go into the grocery store if you are not wearing pants. You can’t yell “fire” in the Produce Department. You’re not allowed to urinate on the floor in the Frozen Food Section. Do you object to those restrictions? Rules, established for the common good, are component of a civilized society.

Absolutely!

Yep

Neighbor 3 houses down, his daughter just got it that lives with them. They had a huge thanksgiving gathering and its already spread to many of them. He refused to take a test and he went to work at the Veterans hospital yesterday. Now hes clearly showing signs and is in denial, so is his wife who's a teacher and shes scheduled back to work monday. That is insane recklessness and should be criminal
Many in America became addicted to a disinformation narrative years ago and have been receiving regular doses of it ever since.
Millions - especially in the heartland - are now immune to truth and facts.
But not immune to Covid-19.

Last week I watched an interview with a nurse in South Dakota who said many patients there refuse to believe in Covid-19 even as they're dying of it.

That's not just heartbreaking; it's also more than a little terrifying.
Those who don't believe something exists will not be taking precautions against it.

I agree totally. When you're literally starring death in the face and clinging on by a thread, you would think its time to consider the possibility that maybe you've approached this from the wrong perspective. Its tragic

Roger that on the Heartland. As you guys know. I’m in Illinois. Have been my entire life. I love the Midwest. We work hard. Probably don’t play as hard as some of you on the two coasts. A bit slower paced, which suits me just fine. Great place to live and raise a family.

That said. We can also be a little dense when it come to a reality like this pandemic. Spent most of my life in a little county, population 15,000, in Western Illinois. For most of this pandemic, they’ve been missing the big numbers we were seeing in NE Illinois.... Chicago and burbs... until now!! They got complacent. Take a look at the chart. In the month of October, the numbers of pos cases doubled up the rest of the year to that time. Then in November they’ve basically doubled again. Nearly tripled October.

While I realize 750 positive case dont sound like much..... that’s 5% of the total population of the county. I feel bad. Let down by their attitude this thing isn’t real. These are my family and friends. People I grew up with. People I sat next to in church. People I sat with at Friday night HS football games.... when you live in a town of 3600, there isn’t much else to do on a Friday night.

This is reality and they just don’t see it.

We had something similar in Saskatoon and area. Population 334,000
Went from (active cases)
Oct 10 - 34
Nov 1 - 284
Yesterday - 1318

Premier says he will not do like a 3 week shutdown as it would be a catastrophe for business. Hmm. We did a 3 month one when cases were at 20. We need a reset, people aren't listening.

If someone told you a year ago that 265K+ people would be dead this year in the U.S. from a global pandemic, would you have believed them?
I don't want to get all political but a true fact is the death toll & numbers are completely screwed. First and for most we are here in the USA for all causes of death down 2000 deaths per month with Covid 19. My Mom just finished her 14 day quarantine. She is 69 and laughed Covid 19 off basically with health issues. Here you aren't hearing about the regular flu are you? The vaccines are here so that is awesome but the numbers of deaths are all messed up as basically you could have died from this or that but tested positive from Covid so your death was Covid.
Actual facts.....
Monthly Death Rate in the USA for all causes:
2017 - 234,000
2018 - 237,000
2019 - 238,000
2020 - as of 9/26/20 with Covid 19 rolling...236,000...so what the news/left would like you to know is we went down 2000 deaths a month with Covid and everyone quit dying from everything else?

Covid was a horrible thing & terrible anyone died from it, they need to start looking at where it came from and holding people accountable!

Because of distancing, masks, etc handwashing, flu here this year is down to like 17 cases this year, 700 last year. People aren't travelling, less accidents etc.

Testing positive and dying generally are related - covid can make existing conditions worse and be the reason someone gets something else like pneumonia and dies from it. That is a Covid "related" death. They would not have died otherwise.
Good for your mom! There are also people in their 30s with no existing conditions dying from this.
Put it this way. All death is caused by stoppage of heart that cannot be restarted. So no one dies of cancer? Ever? It's all caused by heart stoppage?
Covid is killing people. Period. Lots of them.
Why make light of the people who get covid and die from a heart attack??
