Please take this seriously

Neighbor 3 houses down, his daughter just got it that lives with them. They had a huge thanksgiving gathering and its already spread to many of them. He refused to take a test and he went to work at the Veterans hospital yesterday. Now hes clearly showing signs and is in denial, so is his wife who's a teacher and shes scheduled back to work monday. That is insane recklessness and should be criminal

Just goes to show you, many out there are selfish, and they don't care about anyone else, except themselves..
Exactly. Care only about yourself and not even the space around you, let alone the other people among you. And the worst is these people, like my neighbor, actually still say this a hoax, even after getting infected! Its Absolutely insane

I know this is wrong thinking, but I really wish they hadn't said 80% would only experience mild symptoms or be asymptomatic. Maybe people would have taken it more seriously.
Agree. It made people feel invincible when the reality is much darker. People thought it would feel like a cold or mild flu symptoms and while some got that, others ended up on ventilators or worse

I agree completely. Im all for personal freedoms and such but when EVERY scientist and doctor in the medical field across the globe tells you that it not only slows transmission from you but transmission to you, why in the name of god are we arguing this??
Agree. Agree. And agree. There were some twists and turns in the first few months where information was changing daily. Masks. Then no masks. But since early summer the doctors and scientists have been pretty consistent with (1) wear a mask. (2) social distancing. (3) wash hands. The major issue in The States. Our doctors would step up to the mic and say this. Then their boss would step up and say things like Covid Covid Covid.... don’t know what the big deal is. Even after he was infected. This pandemic is no ones fault. How we proceeded in the ensuing months is on all of us. Many made socially conscience decisions. Too many have not. Now we’re paying the piper.

Stay safe everyone. You guys matter to me.

Truer words never spoken! And likewise to you as well, be careful out there! The fix is right around the corner but we got a lot to do before it comes and a lot more as it comes

The thing that troubles me, is those who think its an older persons disease, it doesn't matter how young or older you are, this thing will take you at any age. There has been people here in 20s and thirties have died, oh I know what some might be thinking they already had other health issues WRONG. They were healthy younger people with no underlying health issues. There are those out there who think they are tough and fit it wont get them. Well I have watched many programs on this and have watched interviews with body builders etc who have been brought down to bed ridden for weeks and some still have symptoms and cant even return to work 6 months after they no longer have the virus. There are 30,000 Canadians who are like this, I know there have to be one heck of a pile of these in America as well. No matter who you are , you are able to pick up this virus and it can kill you. Wear a mask and stay safe my brothers, only go out if you have to and get back home. Help is coming soon with the vaccines, but its going to take time to get people inoculated so try to be patient, better days to ahead. Keep on smiling, and like I always say ROCKnROLL!!!

Absolutely!

Biggest mistake was making this a political issue.
It was never a political issue, it was always a life and death issue.

Foolish mistakes and really bad decisions were made.
Now you got a huge job to clean up the mess. And it's not going to be easy to deal with.

The vaccine won't solve this.
There is not going to be enough vaccine to save a lot of people. A lot of people are going to die.
It's going to be 3-5 years before this mess is brought under control.
You have a long haul to see the finish of this.

There will be many people die, especially while the I CUs are filling up therefore a shortage of beds, with heart problems and people needing emergency surgery, there will be those who won't be able to have scheduled surgeries due to services overwhelmed. There are some major hurdles to get over for sure. The World is in a bad state, not just pandemic wise, also financially, but we must think positive, if we all do our part and work along with our local medical authorities, use common sense to slow down the virus we will have a chance to get things in a better position.

Covid 19 has highlighted the vulnerability of the human race and has forced us to examine how we live our lives.

I hope governments from all countries learn a lesson from all of this, because even if Covid 19 is brought under control the next viral epidemic could be more aggressive and more devastating.

Stay safe Gentleman

All people around here in the swamp can rely on is their own common sense, because the Fla. requirements are not based on any kind of logic.

Florida recommends but does not require face coverings for the general public. Several cities and large counties, including Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Hillsborough (which includes Tampa), have mask requirements, but local governments are barred from assessing fines and penalties for noncompliance under a Sept. 25 executive order by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Yep. There ya have it.

Recommendations, not requirements.
We're all doomed. :ohno:

These are all great and reasonably thinking ideas. Its a crying ass shame that grown men in a gear forum can sit and navigate a once in a century pandemic with rational thought, but governments from the top down cant see the forest for the trees.

Like @Amp Mad Scientist said, it should have NEVER been a damn political issue or a blame game. Yeah, a certain country didnt do their job and wasn't forthright to the rest of the world when the signs were lying in front of them when the virus first began. But many countries didnt do their job and protect their citizens once it reached their shores. Some did and are better for it, despite the losses they endured like every country has, but large and powerful nations failed in the most basic response.

When you're talking about a disease like this, which is something out of a scary science fiction novel, all arguments and personal beliefs have got to be suspended for logic and scientific proof. Science has been there to guide all the countries through this ( despite some of the early mistakes and misunderstandings) but too many have chosen to ignore it for their own hubris and ignorant beliefs. Now we have light at the end of the tunnel but have to wade through a river of poop to get there.

I just hope everyone here keeps their guards up, despite a few of our guys already being unfortunately stricken with this evil bastard. I wish you all the absolute best in this extraordinarily screwed up situation.
