I agree with them black, white, black.
But that black, red, black is tuff.
On the right guitar it would be a subtle but effective way to add a little color.

Ive seen a lot of black strats with tortoise guards and cream pickguards. Looks good. I think white pearloid would have been better if you had chrome or black hardware. Just my personal opinion.

Naturally, this is pretty unimportant I guess, but it's fun to try and come up with different looks...
