Photography, wildlife and more

I managed to get a still hummingbird one time at the cabin. Even managed to use fill flash. Never got a good flying one.

Them little buggers is FAST I cant even get a good non out of focus shoit of a gutiar sittin still ..... and ya'll are getting hummers at 35 mph

I sit motionless for hours, until they gain trust. Take 10,000 pictures, and hopefully get one good one. That's my technique, anyway.

These tiny little buddy's, fly from my house in Connecticut, down the coast, and across the gulf of Mexico... and then return the next year. To the same exact spot. How??

Every year b4 I put the feeders back up, they fly to the spot where I had them hanging.... looking for them. Amazing. That's how I know it's the same ones. I love my little friends.

I am jealous of the turnout you have at your feeder. We have hung three feeders up in our yard and at first we had a few different birds visit, but now it seems we only have one regular visitor.
We read that they can be territorial, but the feeders are far enough apart that it shouldn't be a problem....We're hoping that others will come back, but in the meantime, we're thankful for the one who does come by.

I had no visitors for a long time. Then over time, as they noticed, they started to form a waiting list. Several would sit on the electric wires waiting. I had 4 feeders, they would empty them quickly. Give it some time, they'll come.

I was surprised how aggressive they are. There was one that would sit and wait, then chase off any contenders. Their reactions are lightening fast. It's amazing. You can hear their body's collide too.

Keep the syrup fresh. I make my own. 1 part sugar, 4 parts water. Dissolve completely.

Go it, Bocc69, We've only had our feeders out for maybe a month. We'll give it more time and see what develops.
I make my own nectar too, same recipe. ;)
Thanks

We do 4 cups water, heat in microwave for about 6nmonutes, then add 1 cup sugar. Stir a bunch and let cool. We hav either regular birdseed feeders and have all kinds of visitors.
