Right on...the wiring is looking good. I can see you're using 250k ohm CTS pots. Do you find CTS pots better than Bournes ones?

;>)/
The CTS pots is what was supplied with the complete Callaham Hardware Kit. Then again, I guess I'm a CTS Fanboy... CTS pots are in all my electrics. Either the CTS's were stock in the guitar, or it's the brand I stuck with when it came time for mods or builds. I've heard Bournes produces some quality pots, too, but I never have tried any.

I've used both and prefer CTS.

Bourns does make some nice pots. I have some in one of my guitars. I like their mini pots. If you need to use a mini pot for some reason, the Bourns mini pots are good and don’t feel cheap.

I didn't know Bourn made mini-pots. I have always used Alpha when mini's were needed. Good tip...

One more week of "curing time" ahead for the finish on the body and the neck.

Meanwhile... this morning I was looking at the assembled and rewired control assembly. I felt I can make it more OCD-like and add to the Mojo. So, I added purple nipples around 4 of the pot lugs; added clear sleeves at the smaller cap; added a solder lug for the jack's ground: added another solder lug for a repositioned cap ground; and cut off the always unused lug of the tone pot...

Yes...

I'm bored... :rolleyes2:

Syscokid,
I agree with the switching around of the volume and switch locations. I have always thought that was a flaw in the tele design. The switch is in the way for quick volume changes. Or...maybe it's just my ham-fisted playing and lack of finesse!
At any rate, I plan to do the same on my current tele build (which has stalled while I was away on vacation!).

If bored, why not futz with the controls of a guitar plugged into an amplifier?
Looking good!

Early in my guitar playing journey:
One of my first ever mods was a GFS prewired harness / control plate for my SX Furrian Tele.
I followed the diagram, and everything worked.

BUT, things just didn't seem right!
Darn neck P90 sounds sounds twangy and the bridge sounds dark, woody, and not at all like any bridge pickup!

It took me a while to figure out the bridge and neck were reversed on the switch.

I don't have a pickguard for this project yet. But if I do install a pickguard, it'll be a clear one. Comments?

Yeah, silly things like that happen to me all the time.

Yesterday I assembled the guitar. I started by installing the neck's tuners, when I noticed that the Tru-Oil finish on the headstock was far from pristine. I tried polishing out the irregularities, but it wasn't very successful. I even burned thru the finish on a small area on the back of the headstock. I may or may not address this at a later time. I still need to do some final shaping of the nut. The slots are at the proper height. The action and feel is superb, and the sound is definitely a twang monster while the guitar was plugged into my little Yamaha THR10... uhm, a late-night low-volume scenario.

I'll be posting more beauty shots after I'm completely done with the nut. But for now, a few teaser pics...
