Is anyone familiar with the Peavey MX VTX hybrid 130 watt amps (early '80s). They made them as a 112 combo and as a flitecase head. Mine is the latter. I need to know if it requires a 2-button or 3-button footswitch. I have to replace the busted footswitch jack which is a 6-pin DIN and wire up a proper switch. The footswitch that was sold with it when I bought it used isn't the correct one. I need to know if those amps were made with the COMBINER function or not. The manual calls it an "Automix" footswitch. The other Peavey amps I own from that era that have the "Automix" switch have the Combiner function but, it's possible that doesn't extend to every single amp they made. I haven't heard back from Peavey support and I couldn't find a picture or anything on the interwebs. Help!

You might speak to the techs or ask for the schematic.
Peavey will usually have some type of help.
 
NAw their in Mississippi ---its still 1987 there-- probably aint got the email--- still trying to get the computation machine to "dial up"

Funny, I had just bid $15 on a bag of 75 old assorted amp/guitar/radio knobs on ebay, because I saw 4 Peavey plastic knobs (white, blue, black, light and dark grey insert kind) in the picture that were from late '70s-'80s era amps (silver sides) even though I only need 1. It closed yesterday at $77. I'll keep an eye out for you. How many do you need?

I just laugh at what they go for online--- and the fact PEAVEY will NOT make anymore -- you KNOW they have the damn MACHINE that makes em..........JUST FIRE THAT MOTHER UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they are Peaveys though -- get em cheap--- flog them daily (they like that)

They have a low power switch that drops the output to 1/4 power (roughly 33watts) which is supposed to be half the volume. I'm currently only using 2 of the 4 tube sockets and running them with EL84s in Class A adapters instead of 6L6s. It is still frickn' LOUD! I bought it several years ago to drive my talkbox but, my jam room got flooded and I had to dismantle everything to move it out. Now that I'm getting stuff hooked back up I am addressing the repairs as I go. It's a killer amp. Sounds like a chainsaw. Nice cleans also. I just want to restore it to be fully functional. I have a thing for these old Peaveys.

my office is 10x12 (feet that is) --- I have a 4 watt Vox AC amp that has never been DIMED----even 33 watts is too much :)

and that is just whats here.......now.....many others have resided here----
