Peavey 6534+ going in for another retube

I sold my old Peavey Mark VIII XP + 410TX bass rig today for $600 ... half of it will help pay for the service of the 6534+ and the other half bought this for $300:

I'll swap the Celestion Vintage 30s from my horrid Ashton particle board cab into it, that will make it a 240W cab

Hey Dave.

I apologize if I divert this thread a little, but have you ever tried the 6505 mini-head?

No I haven't, but the price on them here in Australia is not very good. They are mainly useful for home playing, if you really care what your amp sounds like at home. I'm a cheapskate when it comes to practice amps, I just struggle along with horrible sounding practice amps and spend the big bucks on stage amps. You can see my shitful practice amp in the back of the photo above. I'm sure there's a nice sound in there somewhere, but I haven't found it yet.

Spoken like a true rocker... :dood:

Our amps are back in action. You can hear Josh's amp by itself in one fast section in the first song where I stupidly left my tuner on, lol. Our old vocalist Bryce was in town for the first time since he left so we let him guest on the two songs he wrote the lyrics for. You can also hear the throaty sound of the Bare Knuckle Black Hawks in my Schecter Stiletto 6-FR. The intro is the rhythm channel with bright and crunch turned off, Boss Space Echo, MXR Black Label Chorus, MXR Carbon Copy, EQD Ghost Echo, and Boss Multi-Overtone on, followed by lead channel with just the lead channel with the chorus for the next section of the intro to the first song. The rest of the songs are basically the lead channel, with no effects except a lead boost, until the end of the set where I use all of the ones mentioned above plus a Wazacraft delay and an EVH phaser. Josh is using the same model amp with an LS-2 as a boost and Ibanez DDL-10 delay on leads

You're getting some very good tones there, Mr D. Death. You're setting a full, dark yet vibrant and musically nuanced wall of sound for the band - the Peavey sounds great.

Nice to see you got your amp back plus the new cab. Keep rockin bro.

That's still my old cab. I need to get some parts for the backboard and wiring. Those are the speakers that are going into it, however. Celestion 60W (made in China) 16 ohms Vintage 30s, well broken in.
