This is one that hits a lil more for me. It sucks seeing any old hero fall but when it's one that directly had an impact on your life thru a musical awakening in your life, it hits a lot harder. Sadly, Paul Di'Anno who fronted Iron Maiden from the self-titled debut album and their follow up landmark, Killers, has sadly passed away at the age of 66. He had been battling leg issues for many years and was confined to a wheelchair due to ongoing complications from sepsis.
Though I look at Maiden as being led by Bruce Dickinson, Paul's contributions to the band can never be understated and he gave them a fierce and dangerous presence on stage. His work on Killers is still phenomenal today and the man was still doing 100 shows a year while in a wheelchair! He is sorely missed
