Funny thing the other day a local smoke shop my wife goes to. She went in to get me a Zippo lighter, Trooper version:dood: salesperson says he likes the Paul Di' anno years better
now don't get me wrong I like that version. However the dynamic Bruce added just blows the early version out. Imho

Just because it was in stock. It's cool all black!
Funny thing is that I always look for cool Zippo’s.
I rarely use them, but I do like them..

I recently after last year's trip to South Bahamas started slowly getting in to Cuban Cigars, now Nicaraguan and Honduran. Of course they say stick matches are best but I like that Zippo is American made.

Dickenson is a way better singer. For sure. Better suited to stadiums. I like the raw simplicity of the early stuff but still really like the later stuff.

Paul had this messed up knee with all this fluid stuff going on. He tried and tried to deal with it but it eventually led him to wheelchair. Fortunately, fans did a crowdfunder and then even eventually got to the guys in Iron Maiden who ran this charity event at the pub they debuted in: The Cart and Horses. They raised more than enough money to fly him to Croatia for the surgery, which he got in late 2022 and is apparently doing much better. He can walk now for about 2hrs and is still rehabbing to further strengthen his legs. It was also announced that any remaining medical bills be has? Maiden themselves are directly funding.
Though I'm a devout worshipper of the Bruce Dickinson versions of the band, I can't help but love Paul DiAnno's contributions as well. They were young, angry, very technical and he had amazing charisma and great vocals honestly. I even love the often hated Blaze Bayley era. Vocally, really lesser than Bruce or Paul but I loved the music and the fact he bravely stepped up to fill impossible shoes when Bruce left

Agreed except I never followed Blaze, instead followed Bruce and Adrian.

Both were great as well! I loved Bruce's solo stuff and I liked ASAP with Adrian Smith. When Adrian joined Bruce for the Accident Of Birth and The Chemical Wedding albums, they were actually surpassing Iron Maiden's stuff at that time, which opened the door for both to return together to the band

I still have my Dad's old service Zippo, engraved with his name & rank.
His unit was stationed in West Germany with the M65 nuclear cannon.
Somewhere I have pics of him with 'Atomic Annie.'

That is very cool. They are still made in the U.S. which is becoming rare with products nowadays.

I read once that Atomic Annie wasn't supposed to be in Germany to begin with but it was rather a very special screw up: Atomic Annie was supposed to go back to Fort Sill after the live shot was fired and then it's back up that didn't fire, Sad Sack, was supposed to go to West Germany. But it wasn't discovered for at least 10 years, in 1964 that they mixed the two up lol
