Many of you may be familiar with my typical staging area for my guitar shots.

I've typically used my deck, as in the shot below:

However, I recently tore the deck down.

So, I now have to choose a new backdrop for my guitar shots.

Maybe one of the oak trees?

Nice pic's !! i get the sentimental value...Is a new deck in the plans ?

Sometime in the future I’ll hire a company to put up a new deck. I really hated the old one. It was very bulky and ugly. It looked good in my guitar pics, but I think it made my house look bad.

I’m glad it’s down. The next deck will be smaller and less dated-looking.

My county also now requires that all decks be entirely self-supporting. They can’t rely on the attachment to the house for support. I really like this.

For now, I have a decorative, but secure, barrier across the door that used to go onto the old deck.

Honestly though, in the summer months we spend all our time out at the pool deck, anyway. We never used the deck on the house...except for guitar pics!

Can I come "end" your oak tree? I need some quality wood for the smoker.

We lived very near Don's beautiful chalet when we were first married. I loved it there. I was happy shoveling snow. I just enjoyed the sounds and the smells of the woods, but my wife didn't like winter driving, so we moved just down the hillside...i still miss it.
