I have been Jonesing for a P90 equipped guitar for some time now. I would really like a Godin Summit Classic P90 or a Gibby LP JR but I can't see spending the money for either of them as they will probably get limited playing.
Currently there is a Hamer AT P90 for sale near me. It is a double cut mahogany guitar with a flame maple top (veneer I assume). It has 2 soap bar P90s and it looks pretty good to me.
The price is right so I am going to have a look at it this evening.
Does any one have any experience with one of these beasties?
Here is a pic:

Looks nice!

I know the Hamers from the seventies and eighties were very good guitars.

I'm not sure how they are now that they are made over seas.

Hopefully, they are still worthy of the name.

I believe Sysco has several Hammers--
I have played many -- for what ever reason never took one home-- but wasn't for lack of quality -- that one your GASsing on looks lovely

no experience but had those on my list when searching something much like that.
Bring a strap to check for neck dive.
The top horn is longish you may be ok.

Ya baby!
Double Cuts with P90s are my bag, baby!!

Affirmative... :yesway:. I have 3 USA-made Hamers. 2 are P90 equipped. Fantastic and extremely well built guitars.

USA made Hamers stopped production by 2013... Thank you, Fender.... There was an Asian line of Hamers, the XT series, that were built until 2009. Another attempt at Asian built Hamers started up again about 2 years ago. I do not have any experience with any Asian built Hamers. The Hamer AT P90 is Asian built.

I expected it was Asian made given the prices they are currently fetching. Not an issue for me.
I will check it out this evening and report back on my findings. Consider it a fact finding mission for the greater good of TTR members!

the heck with her -- she is selling the day old steaks in the alley -- TIP ME!
