Our first gig

So now you gotta choose what you are going to take
Now I’m with the program. :bash:

Main guitar will be my Epi LP Ultra. It has such a fine neck and feel and the Z90 pups just fit in that sonic space as Al plays a Strat. I’ll go wireless into the Tone Master Pro modeler and then wireless into the Tone Master FR-12 amp. A backup guitar is my Wambird Warmoth with P90s (that I got from Adrian). Will also be lugging a JBL PA.

We live in the mountains here in So Cal. We only plan on small local places no more than 30 minutes away, all on the mountain.

I do get it. I think there is a certain tranquility that comes with being in a band that is basically just friends chilling and playing a few local gigs a year.

I get where you’re coming from.

Our band has chosen a pretty aggressive route. We’ve been getting more and more gigs and our leader is very proactive with marketing and we even work with a booking agent. Plus, we recently hired a lighting and sound engineer. Pretty much every gig involves setting up a projection screen and projector for graphics and effects, lighting (which may include assembling trusses, depending on the venue), and the PA. It’s a fairly labor intensive process. Honestly, given the complexity of my family situation and the fact that I have the least flexible schedule in the band, the thought has occurred to me that I may have to bow out at some point.

Well the practice with the drummer went extremely well. He’s been playing for 50 years, he’s 67. We played about 15 songs and he nailed everyone of them. We’ll be back at it on Tuesday prepping for the neighbors party at the end of May.
Turns out the drummer’s neighborhood does a block party every year, so we are going to play there too on June 29th. Let the summer fun begin.

I feel ya on that. Before i took this audition, Had 2 weeks to think..can I tour cause no doubt this is headed out soon as material is learned for Live works.

Had to ask myself, what are you looking for at this point in life. I told them as long as i can answer my phone up till gig time & dispatch to my workers & head back right after i can. This first go round will be within 4 hours of me north & south basically.

They fully respected & accepted it. This is it for me- 1 last full effort & enjoy it all,

We are all financially secure & same age range & there is a 'we want to do this" how nice that is.

But did really soul search..my conclusion, all i do is work anyways.. need out a bit while able to.
