Ordered this today

I got taught a lesson many years ago. I was working in a logging camp, Thirty days on an island up north then seven days out. We lived in a bunkhouse. A friend played in the ongoing game for money. He was very good. I asked him to teach me. For the whole month we played every night but not for money. I thought I knew the game so the night before we got a plane back to civilization I told him I wanted to play for money. He asked if I was sure. Like an idiot I said yes. He introduced me to the doubling cube. Luckily I didn’t have very much cash on me.

Nice ! I love to play BG but not many folks around to play it with. We used to play this is college all the time because, well, it was free and entertaining. About 6 or 7 years ago I bought this wood set at a craft show in San Francisco.

Norm, google Russian backgammon. We played this version a lot. Both players start with their pieces off the board. Both players get their pieces on the board with the dice roll BUT, you both come on in the same quad and you both move in the same direction around the board to get off. All the other basic rules apply. It can make for VERY long games. :dood:
