I have the Blackstar, and I really like it, for a 3 watt amp it works well, I have a friend who has this little Orange and it puts out as well, I have played through it, sounds great . Both are pretty equal to me. But I think between these two little beasts, I think the Blackstar just has a wee bit of an edge over the Orange.
 
The battery power lasts for a long time hours and hours. I also have the ac power as well. Can also run a mp3 player through it.
 
I have the Micro Crush. It is a toy. But, a nice $20.00 toy that the guys at Robin Guitars in Houston gave me a deal on when buying a set of Rio Grande pickups so I could have something for my hotel room. If I travel for work again on a regular basis, I wouldn't mind checking out the Blackstar.
 
Well John-- if your looking for something FUN in the hotel room......I mean other than hookers and blow -- (my "go to") ---
this is actually VERY much more fun than the Orange
has built in "drum beats"
 
The Blackstar, to me is a much better amp, in saying that the Orange is $20 bucks cheaper. The Blackstar is impressive for a small amp, hard to beat in its price range.
 
well-- for its SIZE--
but you can get used Roland Micro Cubes which have MUCH better tone than the above 3 combined--- with built in effects-- ad models in an amp that sounds very good for its size-- its just a little CLUNKY and large for say air travel.

Or this Vox rhythm 5 with effects.DSC00073.JPGThis amp sounds good, very good tones, has drum beats, all different kinds of effects. Headphone jack, use mp3 player. Battery or AC power.
 
Another plus with the Blackstar it has an axillary jack for MP3 player and a headphone jack as well.

the vox Rythm 5 also has many more features than the Blackstar or orange -- with better tone----(IMHumbleO)

I have had MANY VOXs --- or is that Voxi ? in between --- probably will see others come and go as well.
 
and for the record I HAD the orange and the blackstar-------- and ---- "issues" lets face it I have ISSUES.........and at the moment --- NO RUM .........(which is its own issue)

WoW!! I am starting to read things wrong, its retirement it has a way of doing these things to a person.:ROFLMAO:
 
But I have to say I really like my little Blackstar fly 3. Even my friends found it hard to believe that it sounded that good.
