OOOH TELE

Norm, ya never know. I've had a few different models of Fender, a couple of G&L's and came close to dropping a bundle on a Suhr one time but maybe the right one is out there for me, haha.

TBH, ever since I bought my first Firebird I have all those tones that I would want a Tele for covered.
I've never played a Firebird, but it is very different (construction wise) from a Tele. Which model do you have, and how do you like it?

I hear you Gary, I have the same with my Strats, but I keep thinking I would like a Tele style guitar with all the new upgrades that this Tele would bring to the table. To have a different look if you know what I mean.:)

I have two, a Firebird I (single pickup, wraptail bridge) and a Firebird V (two pickup, tune-o-matic with stop bar). Yeah, they are not like anything else - laminate construction, neckthrough, very long body, weird shape - but that's what makes them so great. First, they sustain better than anything else I have ever played, including my Les Pauls, and because of the shape and construction they have a really unique feel. The Pickups are also unique because they are not like regular humbuckers with the magnet at the baseplate; instead they have a magnet in the middle of each coil and the effect is that with the magnet so much closer to the strings and the reduced width of the coils they sound much more like a hot Tele pickup than a regular humbucker. They will cop all of those classic Tele tones but also are noise free and a lot better with gain. Play one as soon as you get the chance.

Presently got both a Studio P90 and a THUINDERBIRD
the Studio is not as UNRULY and huge lol
but it is a larger profile than most other guitars and gets its headstock banged into things
the THUNDERBIRD is just foogin HUGE (but I LOVE to play it and it sounds wondermouse
