Well the wife is on her way to Tallahassee again, I put her on the plane this morning.
Next weekend is her mom's 95 birthday, yes I will be there also.

So to celebrate I am cooking a big ole pot of Black Bean Soup with smoked Pork Shanks.
I am the only one around here that likes Black Bean soup so I wait for special occasions to cook it . . . like today.
Helps me to remember my Swampistan roots

Some smoky bean soup sounds mighty good. Been meaning to start cooking homemade soups more often myself, but I'm waiting for cooler weather.
Soup season is coming fast though. We've had some cool evenings already and the forecast for tonight says it may get down into the 40s.
