Old Job

I loved mostly working outdoors in my career. But Kev’s former(?) occupation is rediculous! No way, José… :ohno:
It's relatively safe if done right. In over 20 years of doing it the worst I had was a couple of broken fingers and the odd cut or bruise.

The structure at 0.04 in the video is a drilling derrick, it was one of those I was on when I fell. Up until then, I couldn't count the amount of times I had worked on them.

Well, I think enough time has passed from that delightful, uplifting post to tell about my next hospital adventure.
I was attending physiotherapy and being put through my paces by a female nurse who I'm sure was an ex soviet shot putter or weight lifting champion. It looked like someone shaved a bad tempered gorilla and slapped some lipstick on it.
Anyway, I started getting pains in my chest. I put it down to exertion and the after effects of the injuries but they had other ideas and took me back into hospital for an angiogram and told me I had blockages in 2 coronary arteries. One 90% blocked and one 40% and had to insert a stent.
I was like, seriously!! Are you s£itting me ? :ROFLMAO:

OK. Enough with this bad health luck Kev. I mean, really? The good news is once your circulation gets back to normal you'll feel better. Glad the PT people had the good sense to get you to hospital. The Man Upstairs is getting real tired of me pestering him to watch out for you. So give the guy a break huh? :rolf:

Oops, better not tell you about slipping off a stepladder and having to get the metal in my leg adjusted then :ROFLMAO:

Coyote's already tutted in disapproval about that one :rolf:

I was actually on this one at the time and things got a bit exciting.
It's a floating accomodation platform which was alongside a production rig. The idea is you stay on the accomodation platform and work on the main rig using a telescopic walkway that swings over between the 2. A storm came through so they had to untether and pull away from the main rig to ride out the storm. We were stuck on that thing for 8 days getting tossed around like a turd in a jacuzzi before it was calm enough to get a chopper out to get us off which was an extra 5 days after I was due off.
