In February of 2011, I wanted to add Robert Johnson's "Crossroads" to one of my blues album. After listening to the recording, and taking into account everything I read about the different recording speeds, I decided to try and work out the tuning and play it myself.
Using one of our studio loaner Hohner 400N Acoustics, I eventually tuned to the following:
F/Bb/F/Bb/D/F
Recorded on 4 track cassette, I stomped a wood pallet in the studio to keep time. The song never made it onto the album. This is just a 1 minute clip, but I thought you guys might enjoy it....
