Oh no..Something New

Trials, Gotoh tuners.
$45 from Warmoth, did not come with screws.
The screw size is 2.5mm, drill size 3/64
Smaller than a toothpick. It think the bit could fit inside a toothpick. Tuners installed, fresh like Irish spring.
That’s not all 4 trips later, it takes a special collet to hold a bit that small for the dremel.

Why not a Fender 2 point though? Same rout, yes? No choppy-choppy-hack-n-slash?

Still…the post bushings conundrum.
Probably wouldn’t be a conundrum if I use conventional S/S/S guard, if it comes down to that a custom guard with the PU angled slightly might work.

The guy that took that pick was a first timer so it’s not written in stone.
I have seen several converted from vintage 6 hole to 2 hole in the exact same location. 2 outer holes drilled.

I also think my Squire is set slightly longer than 25.5”

I measure the Harley Benton Strat to the mounting screws 25 1/4”, string breaks at about 25.5”

Another post I read on Strat talk is saying 25.250”
Enough conclusions. 25.250 comes to a good location as far as the pickup is concerned as well scale length.

Does that work well with the trem block clearance in the existing rout?

If you can minimize the wood working adjustments to the rout, and maintain scale length at the saddles, along with appropriate intonation adjustment range, then I'd focus on where that puts the post location regardless of the measurement from the nut.
Post location can be where it will be, as long as there is enough wood around it for support - i.e., not to close to the pup rout.

Also - Does it look good?

I thought I had answered this but the good news is I used the new Baurer router and trimmed about 1/16” off towards the neck.
It seems like it will fit perfectly.

The location of the pins is going to be limited by the pickgaurd but are just fine. Drilling the pins next once I put the E’ strings on the guitar to be sure of alignment

I had my Custom made with Gotoh pickups/ rings, Bridge/saddles, mini perloid tuners, knurled control knobs, also 4 bolt neckplate . It worked out great for me. Top quality .

This project is in a holding pattern. I have everything, parts for humbucker H/H and a set of super hot GFS single coils, likely to hot but it also has the Kwikiplug harness with 250k pots.

Well in all fairness I like wierd s#it so my endorsement may be different than the masses :victoire: but I dig it. :celebrate:
I was just going for unusual, I guess I nailed it then :kewl:
My hand is not as steady as it used to be and doodle art is not something I practice. That and paintball markers are not a perfect option.
This needed to be done to move forward.

I am considering possibly putting a non functional pickup in the neck position.
I can always change it, I want to make it simple .
I would probably cut down something like this:

…to plug the hole.

… but I would encourage you use your imagination for something appropriately cool to take the space.
Maybe sandwiched under a pickup sized piece of plexi.
