Anyone ever hear of OC Smith acoustic guitars? I can't find much info on them. One of the wife's friend has one she's wanting to sell and doesn't know what's it worth. This one is a model SJ-10. Here's a couple pictures:

I've never heard of it either, though it doesn't look like a bad guitar.

Maybe, start an auction at about $150.0 - $200.00 and see where it goes?

However, I did notice something interesting in one of the photos you posted:

I doubt there's any direct connection, but OC Smith was a singer:

O. C. Smith - Wikipedia

But this Acoustic Forum page seems to have some info on the brand:

O C Smith? - The Acoustic Guitar Forum

Finally, a price to compare:

MADE IN JAPAN 1980'S ACOUSTIC GUITAR + HARD CASE | in Bothwell, Glasgow | Gumtree

That price of $184 USD seems about right, but your guitar does look very nice--it has a look of quality about it. I wouldn't be too surprised if someone might pay a bit more for it. Say, $250, perhaps.

Former Saga-Japan, now Hosco which makes kit guitars. Long sustaining sound, good wood materials, top Sitka cedar, back and sides rosewood, neck mahogany, fingerboard and bridge ebony, ivoried binding . seen a picture of the SJ-10 with gig bag $550 used for sale 1980s. Looks identical to the one you have.

Yeah, I think I found what Session 5 found...

Used O.C. Smith SJ-10: (exc-) Owing a lot to the inspiration of George Lowden, and the designs of Gunter Loos, the SJ-10 is remarkable value. Spruce top, Mahogany back & sides in a small jumbo body. Unfortunately, Mr. Smith has moved on to Blueridge Guitars, leaving behind the legacy of this fine instrument. With gig bag. $550

Also this one that appears to be in German...

Oh, by the way I like it. Looks like a quality piece and I'd give $200 for it right now
as long as it had a thin neck & played reasonably well.

Well, it's my guitar now. The wife got it for me for my birthday. All and all it's a nice guitar. Definitely a jumbo, which is nice as I've never own one and have been wanting one for many years now.

I removed the strings from the guitar, loosened up the truss rod, and put it on the rack (hanging up) for a while. I'll let it breath and relax for a while (maybe days, who knows, maybe longer) and then I'll tweak things, put it back together and run with it. It sounds really nice to my ears. Nothing seems to be wrong/bad as far as neck angle, bridge, etc. So, I should be able to tweak the nut and saddle a bit and be good to go. Play nice now. The action is a little higher than I personally care for, but it definitely playable as is...

Thanks for the info, etc you guys provided...
I'm not a big onlline social/forum guy, but I enjoy this forum and as little as I post here it's about the only place I do, so - lol - ya ;)
