If you scroll down it mentions your favorite word of Tonewood hahahahaha. Its Poplar wood with a Mahogany veneer.

Ahhhh the velvet brick..........so many things I could do with one of those-------some legal--- would be awesome ....wait.....what ???
oh the pickup--- I was thinking of an actual brick with ----never mind
The 1979 "The SG" was actually walnut(wood...not just the color), with an ebony board, a T-top, and a Velvet Brick.
I don't know if the above pic is intended to depict a "The SG", but I'm not sure it is.
A "The SG" had an overlay the same color as the guitar body (walnut color) and the truss rod cover was engraved with "The SG".
The pickup selector is in the same position normally found in the "The SG" guitars. But, the headstock overlay is different.
That's a '79 Norlin-era SG
