I bought an Epiphone tusq nut over a year ago. I installed it, and got tons of string buzz. The nut was too short. I shoved it in the case and forgot about it. I was at Walmart and bought a black plastic folder. I used it for a double layer shim with white glue. I just installed it. Lowered the action at the bridge, and I have NO buzz at all. I had some with the original nut. Damn that plastic nut stunk. I can see that now. I wish I didn't procrastinate. It plays awesome. A little clean up and I'm done. Lower end epi I got almost free...

It is a great feeling, right? Almost like getting a whole new guitar!

I know folks love their Epis, and I do too, but some of the nuts and bridges they churn out are total shite. I just can't understand it because Epis are not cheap, and it would cost them probably less than $15 to sort out these two problems.
