Unique and beautiful indeed! You dont get to see many multi-layer Tele-type bodies, except for customs... The top is flat like a tele, yes? Not curved/contoured like an LP...?I'm not a Tele fan. I never have been. But, the combination of the 1958 Les Paul neck profile, the 12" radius, the 24.75" scale and twin humbuckers makes this guitar something very, very different. The construction is also very Les-Paulish, with the body made from mahogany with maple caps front and rear, and a one piece mahogany neck set into the body with a contoured heel.

Best of both worlds!...what's not to love? Ah... sometimes I just feel like some purists get a bit too overzealous and don't objectively analyze the benefits of going off the beaten path.At one time, I built quite a few of these, but they proved to be immensely labor intensive and time consuming...
Interestingly, they were largely considered sacrilege based on the blending of Gibson and fender into one guitar...

so..................................................................this means Im not getting the Silverburst?!?!?!?!?!?!? -- well o.k.So, Joe B. really had Zero interest in guitars outside of Fender and Gibson. The only guitar he plays- outside of those two brands - is the Dan Erlewine built Albert King V.
We never got a straight answer about this guitar, but when we questioned if there was a "contractual obligation" to play only Gibson and Fender instruments, it was not denied.
Mom has decided to give this to an old Nashville session player friend of hers named David Langely. David played in Mom's band at one time.
David spent some time in Tommy Overstreet's band.
David just flipped when we showed it to him

David is so a top notch producer with more than a few records on his wall.
David is getting ready to start touring, again, so we will post photos and updates from David as he and Stagecrafter #16 travel around.
