A friend of mine gave me his dad’s old Craftsman Metal cutting lathe. Looks like it could be fifties or sixties vintage. Seems like a hobbyist lathe, but it comes with extra stuff like gears for cutting inch and Whitworth Threads. It needs some cleaning up, but looks like everything is there. It will be a gateway drug, as I hope to have a Bridgeport, a compressor, and a larger lathe in the garage by fall.

Old relic but those things were built to last, the old craftsman's were anyways. Could be a fun and useful piece to have for fabricating and resurfacing metal parts

Very cool.

Have you had time to test it out?

No, I haven't. I've got a few other things I need to deal with first down here, then I need a base plate to mount everything on. It was running a few years ago, so hopefully other than cleanup and securing properly, it won't need much else. I just hope that I can find an Aloris Tool Post (or equivalent) for a T-slot that small. Otherwise, I'm stuck hand grinding High Speed Steel tool bits for everything. Would rather get a few small indexable carbide holders.
