It's not a normal Strat. I will pass on the info to you since you are just seeing this for the first time.

I saw him playing it in Syracuse NY on the 1982 or 83 tour.

I was soooo glad to stumble across this thread. It's a little old, but never out of style. Thanks to all folks that piped in on it.

As a kid, I heard "Working Man" and I was hooked. I jammed along with a few Rush albums. I was never strong enough as a player to keep up. I am so grateful to have seen them 3 times. I feel that the solo/jam part in "Freewill" is the absolute, most rocking of all, for all 3 players together.

The only song I was comfortable with playing in a set with my band, was Subdivions. Lerxst made that one simple enough for me, but the drummer really has to work at it. :D Rock on!

Having said all that, HERE is a mortal playing ALEX's parts, and for the first time in my life, I get an idea what my ears heard and my emotions felt LOOKS like up close being played in the style of Alex Lifeson.
