Congrats!
nice score.
I really like that finish.

I am so boggled by the changing specs and the internet confusion and Norlin era bashing.
I read somewhere speculation fat neck SG has worse neck dive issues.
How is that one?

I'm getting SG GAS again; have to see if I can "borrow" MY G-400 from my son for a while.

Norlin bashing has been fashionable for a long time. Makes no sense and I don't care - they are my favorite Gibsons overall.

It's a "relatively" rare finish. I loved the guitar the moment I picked it up and it was icing on the cake that it's a nice bookend to my '79 Silverburst Les Paul.

I will say that this doesn't suffer from neck dive, in part because the body is a beast and quite heavy and in part because the necks on these are moved slightly in vs. the '61/Standard (one reason the neck pickup can be right up against the fretboard on this style.

But then again neck dive on an SG is a non-issue as far as I am concerned. It's another topic entirely but since we are talking SG I will say that I think there is far too much internet grumbling about it. What are your hands doing off the guitar in the first place? Makes no sense, and anyone who has ever played an electric bass or a semi/hollow body or a Fiebird or even the guitar in your avatar has no reason to complain about an SG. (rant over)

One note about this era SG other than the neck/neck pickup placement - the controls are so much better than the '61/Standard layout. Look at the knobs: they are spaced just like a Les Paul, plenty of room between them for fiddling. And while the selector looks like it would get in your way it doesn't because its above your fingers when you are turning the neck pickup knobs but right there for changing pickups and you will never accidentally hit it. Gibson should go back to this layout IMO.

That is very very naughty indeed.

She looks spectacular, kinda nasty looking, but very wonderful. I want one!
