NMGD: 1973 Moto Guzzi 850 Eldorado (Pic Heavy)

It's a Tiger 650 or correctly, 1969 TR6R, the "R" designates made for the US market, the UK bike was called a Trophy. We received both UK & US bikes in Australia.
I have (somewhere) a photo taken of my wife and I taken in the same spot 40 years earlier, we were recreating that shot here. Rubber knee pads have since been added to make it correct.

Honda clearly copied this power plant.

For years, Dad had an 850 Norton...and then a Honda 305 Scrambler with a huge cam and big carbs, straight pipes, etc. Mom had a Honda 350-4.

Dad still has a 1982 CB400 with something like 47 miles on it.

Robert, it's a 1969/70 Honda CB750 "K0". The first of the CB750 series, somewhat collectible these days.
Re your dad's 850 Norton, great bike. I've owned Nortons from 1930 500 singles through to 850 Commandos and very much love them. When I sold my classic bike collection one of my Nortons was without doubt my best bike but I chose to keep the 69 Triumph because of my history with them (see third photo).

Well, I started some clean up and removal today. The faring and saddle bags are off and will most likely stay that way...

Start with new wires. That model requires a non-resistor spark plug too, IIRC.

Remember the old truism, 90% of all carburetor problems are electrical.
Conversely, 90% of electrical problems are carburetor.
So easy to get focused on one when the other is laughing at you.
