NGD: R9 + Bigsby parts question

This arrived today from Japan. Questionable packaging with no outer box but arrived unmarked (including handle) in 4 days sans CITES ppw.

Guitar looks unplayed and had all case candy. It is a 2011 in Amber Orange with factory Bigsby.

Will restring it with 11s tonight and give it the run thru but seems nice.

Question....I need to get some small replacement parts for the bigsby...new felt pad, rubber tip cover, and maybe a spacer to mount a Schaller security lock. Does anyone know of a source for these parts or should I just contact the manufacturer?

No idea about the spare parts because I do not Bigsby, but damn that is a nice guitar!

The rubber tip cover that you refer to, is that the little thing on the end of the handle when you buy the Bigsby?
If so, it's a throw away item, not really a part. Therefore no part number.

Yeah, I took mine off after a few days.

By the way, Big Daddy, that is one fine looking Lester! Congrats on a sweet axe!

Yeah, what they said, It truly is a magnificent instrument.
By the way, if that little arm tip condom is what you want, I just found one in my junk parts drawer.
Message me your address & I'll drop it in an envelope for you.

Right but I want one because I use rack stands and don't want to dig into the back of another guitar when removing it from the rack. I like to drink and can be careless.

Thanks Hackmaster I will let you know if Bigsby will be providing me one or not. The 3 things I am asking for are so small and probably of inconsequential value, I am hoping they just send them to me free. If not I will certainly take you up on your offer!

Like I said. drop me a message with your address & you too shall have one.
It's just that easy...

The other thing I am thinking about is it appears to be a brushed aluminum Bigsby. Maybe I should just buy a nickel one so that all the hardware matches correctly. I know Bigsby offers a nickel B-7 now but think it might be a newer addition to their lineup which is why Gibson put an aluminum one on this originally. If I do go that route then it should have everything I am looking for included as well.

True. However the guitar seems much lighter than I was expecting based on the info provided by the seller. In fact I called Gibson to make sure there was no weight relief and they said no. Must be lightweight Fijian mahogany. So I don't think the weight increase will be an issue for me. I will try to weigh it later for shits & giggles.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle. When I weight it my measurement comes in at 9.69 pounds which is actually higher than the 9.4 the seller provided (well I did swap out the 10s for 11s :)). I swear it doesn't feel anything close to that based on other lesters I have owned in the past. Must be very well balanced. I am not using a wide strap either, just an old fender 2" monogrammed with leather backing. Regardless I think I can accomodate the extra weight of a nickel B-7, just need to determine if the aluminum look bothers me enough to switch.

I think your only choice will be the polished aluminum that you already have or gold plated.
I know some sellers advertise Bigsby's as chrome . But they only come in polished aluminum or gold.
Same with the offshore B70. The really far offshore B700 can be had in black, polished & gold, but that's it.
Finding a "nickle" B7 will be an exercise in futility.

Hack, I was looking at this model which has manufacturer labeling indicating nickel

That is interesting because Bigsby's own site doesn't list one.
Just polished aluminum & gold,
If it does truly exist, I apologize for my misstatement.
I'm curious if that is just referring to the plating on the steel parts.

I think you might be right about the plating but to be honest, about a year or so ago when I was looking for a B-7 I don't recall seeing anything but the aluminum ones and some aged ones. I am wondering if this is a new finish or part of special batch?? I agree when I checked the Bigsby site it was not listed. I am not 100% sure if that is a manufacturer label or a retailer label as well. If Bigsby gets back to my online inquiry I will ask about this as well.
