NGD - PRS SC245

The PRS 594 model has a scale length of 24.594”. It’s a nice, round number, really. :ROFLMAO:

Most other PRS guitars are 25”.
NK, since you seem to be most knowledgeable pf PRS' quirks, what would you say it's the purpose of those scale variations on "line-production" guitars?

Thanks for the compliment Six String but I really don't consider myself knowledgeable about anything! ;)

I believe that the 594 model is 24.594" because that was the original scale length of the first vintage Gibson Les Pauls from the mid '50's. The 594 model is PRS' nod to the early days of the LP. This was because back before calculators and computers the scale length was laid out using a 'Rule of 18' to calculate fret position and was not very accurate.

See an explanation here: The Rule of 18 - It's Something to Fret About | The Institute for Arts Integration and STEAM

I have no idea about the 24.5" scale length on mine!

Congrats ninja that is a lovely beast. A Friend of mine has one (he has many guitars) but seems the PRS is the one I always end up spending the most time on when I visit....
I still fancy a Mira ....if I can find one in a trade deal maybe one day who knows
