NGD: My Custom Shop Les Paul Custom Figured Showed Up!

that is gorgeous, congrats.
Hope it becomes a keeper for you.

The weight concerns me unless you play seated at least sometimes.
I know you have back and shoulder issues and we aren't getting any younger.

I play standing almost entirely, but my back is an issue at times, and I also sit while learning pieces from the laptop.
I have been working on using the classical seated position for my LP types as i just cant do it in the regular position.
Getting more comfortable with it.

What pickups are in there?

I rarely if ever play standing up. Just too much strain on my back and neck. I should be okay with the weight. Many people say it's the perfect weight!

The pickups are:

Neck Pickup: 490R

Bridge Pickup: 498T

This guitar has the deepest sound of any guitar I've ever owned. The lower frequencies are just so thick and heavy, they penetrate my body!

Chris, that guitar is glorious. There is nothing (NOTHING) like a Les Paul Custom.
My Custom is a touch over 11 pounds, and I have owned one that was a touch over 12. I know it's not a popular opinion these days but my own anecdotal experience is that the heavy ones sound bigger - they just do. The lighter ones resonate differently and have a bit more midrange cut but the heavy ones are huge-sounding.

What a long and nerve wracking wait! It arrived today safe and sound and it's a beauty!

A damn Heavy Beauty though...10lbs and 1.5ozs! I think I may name her Bertha!

Pics from the seller...I'll get out in the sun and take my own tomorrow.

Very sexy looking, I love heavy guitars!
Congrats and let us hear how it sounds too please :)

I'm sure it would be for a USAman too. If I had the opportunity, I would be very interested in visiting Aussieland!
Yes, USAmen fit in well here too. Over the years I've had a few good American mates, Canadian too. Aussie women seem to like yanks.
Poms (Englishmen) just seem to get Aussie slang & humour, whereas others take a while being here before they do.
Cheers

Is it a Tasmanian guitar?? Just kidding, (whole lotta) Rosie was written about a (very large) Tasmanian girl that Bon used to call on when they were down there. Bon was one of those guys who, how we say, would f.... a black snake with a festered arse,,, if you held its head.
It is a beautiful guitar. Cheers
I once read a story where the band was kinda hungry and down and out. So they met up with a dumpster fire of a groupie and she offered to put them up for a night or two and feed them, but Bon had to work the debt off. He gladly accepted the offer and the band survived for a few more days. Thats a mate lol
