NGD: MIM Fender Stratocaster Pawn Shop Find...

Back to my New Guitar! Research shows it's a 2003 MIM Standard Stratocaster in Midnight Wine.

The guitar is in amazing shape after a tear down. No flaws in the finish at all! Neck is straight and truss rod works perfectly! There is fret sprout that needs attention.

I have yet to plug the thing in for more than a tap test which shows all pickups working in all switch positions. I will string it up with a fresh set of 9's and test it later.

I may put a fancy figured neck on it...

I never really seem to have time to check Pawn Shops. My wife keeps me busy! But, being away from home and bored to death I stopped in one. There were a lot of JUNK
guitars...and I mean junk. There were some mediocre ones in the $100 range...then there was this one. The ONLY Fender in the store. I picked it up and it looked good.
Checked the price and it started looking better...found out it came with the hardcase and it was SOLD!

I am very happy with the guitar. I can't imagine I will have any issues and electronics can be swapped out!
 
It sure was a great find on your part...
I must pass several when I run errands, but going to work is 2 min from home so I don’t pass any..
Maybe next time I run errands for the better half, I might have to take a peek..

I'm going to hit some here in town this weekend. Maybe the wife will enjoy it?
 
I can’t bring mine, she will empty out my wallet...She is crafty and she loves those places to find stuff..
We have this one place thats a consignment/thrift store and its dangerous for me to let her go..
Last time she brought home new stuff 5 bags and only spent $60..
All the stuff she had still had original store tags on them...
If she hits all the pawn shops there goes my cash for my find:mad:

My wife is thrifty and fairly restrained. She does all her shopping on eBay and spends a fortune...I just let her be.
