I ordered up a new guitar, I think.

It's not in stock and may take 3 months to arrive. This is what I hope to get:

Do you folks like SGs? I just wanted an SG standard, but a specific one that best suits my needs. I also got it sent to my UK address, so no more taxes, etc...






I've often "bought a guitar" for it not to happen later... so I'm not sure on this one.


On another note, on this note, I feel that Gibson SGs had lots of options at reasonable prices over the years, but that has changed. Prices are going up. Second hand prices are going up. Deals on new guitars are less and less. Gone are the days of last year's Gibson SG being sold of for $500, instead, we can just expect prices to increase by $200 every year... It's not a good time to buy.

Thus, a decent Gibson SG at an OK price seems to be worth it at this moment in time, perhaps...

Yeah. A lot of us here like SGs. My version is an Epiphone G400.... but personally, I really like it.

These are awesome. Nice score.

They sell the same model here in the US through Chicago Music Exchange. I am pretty sure it's exclusive to them in the US.

Nice! Oxblood finish and T-Tops. Very cool.

I wish that I got one of the Oxblood Jeff Beck ‘54 Les Paul tribute guitars that Gibson made about fifteen years ago. I love that finish.

Good call Grump. SGs are fantastic. Great upper fret access, won't kill your back and just has a little more in your face tone than a Les Paul. I primarily play Lesters, but always love it when I pick up my SG standard.

Sweet! Congrats. I guess T-type pickups mean they are modeled on the old T-Tops? If so, I bet it sounds great. I love T-Tops.

...2 years later:

Sooo, I waited a while then didn't get a date of delivery, so cancelled my order. Andertons communicated well, but they didnt't know when Gibson would send them.

Now, a good while later, SG standards have increased in price by about $250, but these have stayed the same price - so, they look good value. Only one colour, no delivery date (1-12 months Andertons told me via email - just depends on Gibson...), and these are the last ones available.

I'm thinking over the weekend then may order one up next week, and just forget about it then when it arrives it arrives.

What are your thoughts? (Would it out pink Dave's SG Junior? )

Agree tort on shell is a KILLER SG look. Great choice! Should cost more!
