PARTAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can create a diversion...

A bit late to the party, but real nice work once again RVA. I know people who take longer to change their strings, than it takes you to completely revamp a guitar. That's a sweet looking LP.....now.

Well, you finished that guitar hours ago, so I assume there are two new ones on the way? ....care to share! :D

Is there really a kegger on your roof?

Ok, ill try to keep it down. but I have to warn ya.....I get a bit loud when I drink. Oh, And I pee a lot!!

Thanks Bocca. No new ones on the way as I got that and the green Strat around the same time. I do have some ideas though!! I ordered 2 Bill Lawrence (Bill n Becky) single coils just in case I did not like the SD for the Strat and I have noiseless Tom Anderson P90. Now, wouldn't that make a nice S-S-P90 Strat?!

That thing is truly a thing a beauty.
These Chibi's keep going up in build quality, but they just can't seem to fathom competent wiring.
But when they get it right, these will be hard to pass up.
Hell I want one now... Just for academic purposes of course, to mod & route till the cows come home.

Sorry, Photobucket was down.

So, the ABR-1 bridge saddles seem to have been cut for ropes, not strings. Luckily, I had a Nashville bridge waiting

Fer sure! Dude, what kind of strings were in mind when those notches were cut?

Maybe they use the same bridge for a six-string bass!

Here's something to ponder. Suppose the workers in the Gibson factory stayed late one night and produced Les Pauls unofficially - didn't appear on the books and got sold on the black market. Would those be fakes?

OK, now suppose the same people made the guitars using the same materials, but in another building. What now?

Presumably, it would not have a serial number or certificate from Gibson, which would make it less then authentic, but a potentially perfect copy nonetheless. It could not be sold or displayed for fear of prosecution. It would not have the same market value due to an inability to verify it's authenticity (much like some autographs). Hence, it would be a precise replica, a fake. However, other than the moral and legal implications, who cares. Thus, if you remove the brand name and buy legitimately purchased materials made by individuals who were given permission to use the machinery, and buy it at a discount, now you have something - in other words - buy non-brand name domestic and imports! And, I said it before and it bears repeating - check out an Agile!!!!

Good answer. I'm not so much interested in the legalities of this as the perception of the buyer - the perceived value for money. I'm reminded of the art world. Someone buys a Monet for 20 million, hangs it on e wall and looks at it every day, revering the colours, the brush strokes. Then an art expert examines it and declares it a fake. Suddenly it is not worth looking at any more and nobody will buy it. But it is still that same captivating painting. I guess what I'm saying is that all of this stuff is messy and complicated, and nothing is in black and white.
